In July 2024, NHTSA recall 24V517000 covered 2023–2024 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles whose rear-axle spring U-bolts had reduced strength from improper heat treatment, allowing the axle to shift out of position and risking a loss of control.

Brakes on a Loaded Sprinter Wear Two to Three Times Faster

Diesel Fluids Are Not a Place to Economize

Oil, coolant, transmission, and differential fluid all work harder in a van than in a car, and the intervals reflect that. Short-trip delivery work is harsher on a diesel than highway miles, so a van doing 30 stops a day needs its oil sooner than the mileage suggests.
