Lamborghini Cooling System
The Lamborghini brand remains unrivaled in the automotive industry. Since the launching of the brand back in the sixties, the Italian automakers have built a reputation for the automobile designs and technology. Even so, for a high tech car, Lamborghini cooling system failure is a problem.

The Lamborghini Cooling System
The Lamborghini cooling system has the sole responsibility of keeping the car from overheating. The cooling mechanism involves the circulation of coolant – a mixture of water and anti-freeze through the engine while keeping the coolant at a constant and appropriate temperature. When the engine is running, heat is generated as a by-product of the combustion process; the cooling system is what prevents this heat from melting the engine.

The cooling system of the engine is a pressurized system made up of a set of components including the radiator, thermostat, water pump, hoses, cooling fan and fan switch. These components, all connected in a closed loop work with the goal of keeping the heat down. The failure of any one component in the system could have your engine smoking out.

Signs of a Malfunctioning Cooling System?
Given that the main purpose of the cooling system is to keep the heat down, the most obvious and common sign of a malfunctioning cooling system is overheating of the engine. If you notice a rise in the temperature gauge of your car, then it is possible the heat from the engine isn’t being properly dissipated. In some cases, a coolant leak may also be observed, underneath the car or dripping on other engine components. Also, an illuminated check engine light should not be ignored especially if you suspect a cooling system failure.

Causes Of A Malfunctioning Lamborghini cooling System
There are a number of reasons why your cooling system could malfunction. It could be as a result of a coolant leak which can happen to your Lamborghini irrespective of its age, model or mileage. A coolant leak would result in low coolant levels and for a system that relies on the coolant, overheating is imminent. Faulty cooling system components like a bad thermostat or cooling fan could cause the system to fail as well. A malfunctioning cooling system could also be as a result of a contaminated coolant. The coolant can become contaminated with rust and solid deposits, which would clog up the coolant passageways, effectively reducing coolant supply in the system.

Fixing A Malfunctioning Cooling System
If your Lamborghini is overheating, then it is recommended you stop driving and bring it in for diagnosis and repair. In this case, we will inspect the entire cooling system, component by component to ascertain the cause of the problem. If the problem is as a result of a damaged component like a bad radiator fan motor, then we will replace or repair the damaged component depending on how far gone the damages are. If the fault is from low coolant levels, we will top up the coolant, not before ensuring there is no coolant leak in the system, however; If there is a leak, then we may have to replace the cylinder head gasket.

In some cases, the problem could be from contamination in the coolant, an issue that would necessitate a cooling system flush. Here, we will clean out the entire system and then refill it with new coolant. A cooling system failure can, however, be avoided if you subject your vehicle to routine maintenance and servicing. Regular coolant draining and flushing based on factory scheduled service will also help keep your engine cooling system running perfectly.
