If your Porsche is tugging to one side when driving or when you apply your brakes, it might be because the tire pressure on one side of the vehicle is low, the alignment is incorrect, or there is an issue with the suspension system. If this happens while braking, there might be a problem with your brake system. Whatever the issue, you must always let an auto repairer who has vast knowledge in repairing luxury vehicles like Porsche diagnose or repair it as quickly as possible.

When we drive our automobiles, we sometimes take our brakes for granted. However, if the brake system fails, these signs will be obvious since they will impair our driving experience in a disastrous way. One of the most typical braking difficulties is when the steering begins to move to the left or right as the driver steps on the brake pedal. The steering wheel may occasionally pull to different sides at different times, which can be dangerous.

Reasons Your Porsche Pulls to One Side While Braking

Here are some reasons why your Porsche pulls to one side when braking:

Reasons Your Porsche Pulls to One Side While Braking

Brake Caliper Is Stuck

A vehicle that pulls to one side can be a result of a faulty caliper in the braking system. In most cases, you’ll have a jammed caliper that just has to be changed to get the braking system back up and running.

Damaged Brake Hose

A damaged brake hose is another possibility for a tugging issue. When you inspect the hose, it may appear to be in good condition on the outside, but you won’t be able to tell if the inside liner has some restrictions or not. The only method to identify this issue is to observe how the automobile pulls when you apply your brakes.

If the brake hose is damaged, the automobile will usually just pull to one side for a split second after you press the brake and then return to normal. In rare cases, the brake hose will enable fluid to enter the caliper but not return to the master cylinder.

Brake pads are worn out

Left and right brake pads on the same axle typically wear at the same pace. However, if there is uneven wear on the brake pad for whatever reason (for example, a locked brake caliper), then the brake pad on one side will “grip” more than the other, making your vehicle swerve to one side when you apply the brakes.

Worn Out Suspension

When you brake, the weight of your car shifts, which causes more stress on the suspension. For example, a malfunctioning control arm bushing may cause the control arm to slide, causing your automobile to pull to either the right or left side, depending on the side that has the faulty bushing.

Uneven Tire Pressure

While this is most noticeable when accelerating, when one tire on the same axle has lower air pressure compared to the tire on the opposite side, your automobile will automatically pull to that side. This is mainly visible on the front tire.

The reason for this is that low air pressure alters the speed and diameter of a tire, causing the automobile to go out of alignment. While braking or driving, your car will likely drift to the low-pressure side.

Mismatched Brake Pad

The coefficient of friction varies depending on the kind of brake pad material. So, if you want to change your brake pads, ensure you change them all. Changing only one wheel might result in one side of the brake pad having a different friction material than the other side. This causes one pair of brake pads to have greater stopping force than the other, causing your automobile to swerve to the left or right as you apply the brakes.
